What I Wore This Week 01/07/2019

This weekend was very busy, with three events on in 24 hours! This means I have two outfits to show you this week!

Outfit details:

Jacket from Kmart
Top from ValleyGirl
Pants from Myer
Boots from Betts
Bag made by Mum

Friday night was the awards night for my sister who plays electric wheelchair sport and the dress code was smart casual. If I had to describe this look I would say it’s America college meets biker. Unfortunately, these photos don’t do my boots justice, but they are very comfortable and they’re one of my go-to shoes in winter. The top from ValleyGirl is also super soft, so I guess you could say it was a comfortable outfit all round! While I do say “no pain no gain” when it comes to fashion, it is nice when an outfit is both comfortable and looks good.

Jacket and pants from Supre
Jumper and hat from Basque (Myer)
Boots from Big W
Bag from Colette
Jewellery from Lovisa

It was back to the races on Saturday to see The Velvet King (who won!) and I have to admit that this is one of my favourite winter looks. With the cold weather, it’s hard to come up with stylish outfits that are also nice and warm, while also trying to mix it up with limited clothing options. One of the things I like to do when my horses’ race as well is to wear the same colours as the jockey’s silks. The majority of my horses race in yellow and red, so this means my wardrobe is full of lots of red and yellow! With this look, I love how striking the pops of red look against the black and it shows you just how good colour blocking can be.

Main Products used:

Base: Tarte Shape Tape Matte Foundation and Shape Tape Concealer

Eyes: ChiChi eyeshadow and Model Rock eyelashes<

Lips: Too Faced Melted Matte in the shade “Lady Balls”

With the racing outfit comes the makeup. The stand out feature in this week’s look is definitely the red lipstick; you might as well call me Taylor Swift because I wear more red lipstick than she does! As red lips go perfect with all of my red outfits, I have quite the collection of red lipsticks. The Too Faced Melted Matte “Lady Balls” would have to be my favourite though. It’s very vibrant, lasts forever with no transfer and it’s also not drying! I had it on for 12 hours (I attended a quiz night after the races) and I didn’t need to reapply once. I have this lipstick in the shade “Wine Not” and “Bend and Snap” as well as the melted matte-tallic “Bitch I’m Too Faced” and “Breakup, Makeup”, which will all probably feature in my future blog posts.

A lesson to be learnt from this week’s outfits is that you don’t have to always buy expensive, well-known brands to look good!
