What I Wore This Month – July Edition
I’m finally out of isolation, yay! While I only went to the races, it was still nice to get dressed up. If you’re looking for inspiration on what to wear to the races this winter, then look no further!

It was fitting that my first outing to the races went to see The Velvet King race before he headed off to Melbourne. With the weather being on the cooler side and because of his name, I decided to wear my red velvet pants. Due to their design, I could also wear a pair on leggings underneath for extra warmth. Fun fact, I wore these velvet pants when The Velvet King won his first race, two years to the day, so that was a little bit scary. For there I built my outfit.
My headpieces are limited in winter; hence you’ll see a few repeats through the next few months. Wearing a red top with these pants would be a bit too much, so I opted for a red beret. Black and red go nicely together, plus my high black boots added some extra warmth. I then finished it off with my black fluffy jacket (because who doesn’t love fluffy clothes) and my mustard bag to add a yellow element to match the yellow and red silks.

Surprise, we have another yellow and red outfit! However, this time it was Clairvoyance having her first race (which she won). Coming up with different yellow and red outfits is hard in winter, hence I decided to go with a mainly black colour scheme.
As I wore mainly red last time, so yellow was to be the hero colour this time. Surprisingly, I don’t have a yellow winter headpiece. As I was going with black boots and these comfortable blank houndstooth pants, I went with this black beret. Its pom-pom throws yellow tones which ties in with this jumper nicely.
Overall, I would say this outfit has an edgy vibe, which influenced my choice of this biker jacket. Once again to make sure my outfit had a red element, I opted for a red bag.

This outfit is probably my favourite this week, though I had forgotten what it was like to wear heels! This time it was Weaponson who was racing. His silks are yellow and orange, so this did allow me to mix up my outfit a little bit.
As previously mentioned, I didn’t have a yellow winter headpiece, but I finally managed to find this yellow beanie at Myer. It’s so soft and definitely one of my new favourite pieces. With the yellow beanie locked in, I decided to watch it with my yellow/mustard handbag. I actually don’t own a lot of orange clothes either, so that narrowed my choices to this orange jumper (though you can’t see it very well under my jacket).
The rest of the outfit was then based around the jumper. Despite not being yellow or orange, these purple pants do have orange in the pattern. They’re also comfortable and warm for a cold day so I was like yep, let’s wear that. The pants also have some nude coloured patches, so that impacted my choice of this nude jacket and matching boots.

Warm and comfortable were the overarching themes this “What I Wore This Month” and this outfit was no different. This time it was off to Belmont again to see Weaponson race.
As I’m in love with this yellow beanie, I just had to wear it again. As I wore an orange top last week, I opted for a yellow one this week. This top is made of a fluffy material and while I do like to push fashion boundaries, a fluffy black jacket with a fluffy top is a bit too much! For that reason, and because I wanted to wear my new black boots, I went with this black biker jacket. With black jacket and boots, I decided on black pants, because you honestly can’t go wrong with black pants. As always, the pop of orange came from my handbag.
So, I hope you enjoyed these winter outfits! The month looks to be filled with more racing and back to university as well, so no doubt I’ll have more outfits to show you then.
