Happy #manimonday everyone! You guessed it; this design meant I had nothing on this week. Future weeks will be like too, as I have officially gone into isolation. This just means lots of fun designs for you to recreate while you’re stuck at home. So, let’s get into this week’s space design.

Products used:
Stamping plate: Beauty Big Bang “XL-054”
Stamping polish: Born Pretty “BP-WN01 In Fire”
Base: Sally Hansen “Double Duty Base & Top Coat” and Essie “Aruba Blue”
Top coat: Sally Hansen “Double Duty Base & Top Coat”
Rocket fins and nose: Essie “Really Red”
This week was the last design before I went into isolation, so my support worker and I decided to go out with a bang (Mum will be doing my nails for the foreseeable future). I’ve had this Essie blue for a few months now and haven’t worn it yet, so I was keen to try that out.
In terms of colours, everything started with the blue. Not only was this the perfect opportunity to try it but it has a real “night sky” feel about it. It has a slight shimmer to it and seems to be darker/lighter depending on the light. I then went with a gold stamping polish instead of silver for something different. I’d also seen a gold on blue nail design image online and thought it looks great! To add a touch of colour to the rocket (and make the design that little bit more interesting) I opted for red fins and nose. I’m not exactly sure why I went with red straight away, though I did think it would stand out nicely on the blue. Looking at the design now while I type this, I’ve just realised I used all of the primary colours. Perhaps that’s why they look so good together.
We actually had a pretty good pick up rate this week. With the rocket, we did have some issue, especially with the narrow fins picking up. To combat this, we used a light roll technique. The solar system also had its problems to start with, but once we worked out the technique, they picked up a dream every time. We found that using a decent amount of polish (don’t be stingy) and medium pressure roll, following the lines
Overall, I think this design is very cute and perfect if you have a space-themed event or just love space. If you’re also a beginner, then just have a single reserved stamped image is a great place to start, while still having a wonderful looking design!
Bye for now!
