Happy #manimonday everyone! Let’s get into this week’s monkey design!

Products used:

Stamping plate: Born Pretty “BP-L063”
Stamping polish: Born Pretty “BP-WN03 Throne”
Base: Essie base coat and “Mint Candy Apple”
Monkey: Chichi Cosmetics “Just Shopping” and Essie “Sand Tropez”

Due to exams, I don’t have a new design on my nails, so here’s a throwback to March when I got my first stamping polishes and this cute new plate!

This was all my second time using a Born Pretty stamping polish and it’s easy to see the difference between them and a normal polish. They’re much thicker to work with but it’s so much easier to pick up all of the design with them. If you’re using a lighter stamping polish on a dark background, they also show up really well too.

I didn’t have anything on that week, hence I had free reign on my nails. This is a very cute look and from memory, it didn’t take too long to create. I was happy too that the monkey fitted on my nails because I have small nails and some images on other plates don’t fit. The reverse stamping was also relatively easy to do too because there are no small areas on the monkey to colour in. We started by colouring in his face and then the body, so it didn’t matter the body colour went outside the lines.

If I was to do this design again, I would maybe opt for more of a green background (I didn’t have that colour at the time) and maybe do a leafy pattern on my other nails for something different or if you had a banana pattern that would look cool too.

Bye for now!
