This year I had my first New Year’s Eve party and it was a roaring 20s theme which I was super excited about (you can see my dress later this month)! Unfortunately, I don’t have a specific New Year’s Eve themed stamping plates, but I did have a new starry nail plate that I was dying to try, so that was the start of this design.
I was originally going to do different colours, but as I needed this mani to last a while, dark colours were off the table, so nude it was. I had this new copper stamping polish I wanted to try, plus it tied in with my dress, so that’s the one I ended up going with. Originally, I thought a brown nude would be the base colour to go, but surprisingly a pale pink suited it much better (good choice by Mum who did my nails this week as my support workers were on holidays). This pink polish is very translucent, so I did put a white coat on underneath.
There were no real issues with this look besides the little stars. We decided that the constellation design would be too busy on all of my nails, so we thought a single star would look good. The only problem with that was that none of my plates have a single star image on them, only stars in groups. We tried one from another Big Bang Beauty plate, but it didn’t pick up and that could have been because the stars were very small. Then we moved to the Lina stamping plate and that went pretty well. Our only problem was that the stars were pretty close together which made the extra stars hard to take off on the lint roller. Overall though, most of the extra stars came off except for a few little bits but they just make the star look like a shooting star.
This look turned out really well and it’s perfect if you want something simple, but effective. I’ve also seen a similar look but with a dark navy blue base and gold stamping, which is something I’ll definitely try in the future.
Bye for now!
