#FashionFriday 19/07/2019

This weekend was very busy! I went out on Friday night to The Miss Behave Game Show and to the races on Saturday, which means two different outfits.

I also made the ultimate outfit change this week and dyed my hair purple using the Schwarzkopf Live Colour Semi-Permanent in the shade “Blueberry”. It was recommended for dark hair and it was fairly cheap too. I’m pretty happy with the results, especially because I didn’t want to bleach my hair, so I was never going to get a vibrant effect. My hair has never felt softer and there’s a nice purple tone in certain lights.

So, let’s get into this week’s looks.

Outfit details:

Hat from Design Studio
Jacket from Dotti
Jumper from Valleygirl
Pant made by Mum
Boots from Betts
Bag from Forever New

I went with purple tones for Friday’s look for two reasons. One, with Mum away I had to do my own makeup for only the second time in my life, though I had been practising before she left, and I knew I could do a purple look. Second was that I was hoping that the purple tones in my outfit would bring out the purple in my hair.

I was originally going to wear a purple jumper and pink ballet flats, but I just wasn’t feeling the purple jumper (it was just too much with the hat) and the night ended up colder than I thought, so I went with the boots for warmth. These boots are one of my go-to boots in winter, especially when I want to wear flat boots.

Bag from Olga Berg
Jewellery from Lovisa

Winter racing is a lot more casual than spring/summer and as it’s usually cold, black pants are the way to go! Mum is always on the hunt for yellow or red material to match the jockey silks and this yellow material was a good find. We went with the black collar and cuffs with white piping to mirror the dots on the fabric but also to make it look that little bit more professional, so I can wear it other places.

I can’t remember the last time I went to the races and didn’t wear a red lipstick. This lipstick is my original red from Covergirl in the shade “Hot Passion”. It’s slightly more of an orange-red than my Too Faced Melted Matte but it lasts just as well (I still had some on the next morning!). To match my lips, I went with this Olga Berg bag which is also more orange-red than my velvet bag from Colette.

Hope you enjoyed these looks!

In this week's edition of Fashion Friday, I outline the details of my outfit that I wore for a night out and for a day at the races!
