Track – Good 4

Race 1 – Go Racing for Free Before The Rugby Handicap – 1400m – 11:43pm
Diamond Trade has shown an impressive turn of foot her past 2 starts and the extra 200m should give her extra time to catch up. Amillionite has been knocking on the door for ages and it wouldn’t be surprising if she won. Stevie’s Wonder has plenty of trials under his belt in terms of experience (only 1 trial this preparation) and ran a good race last start. Too Fat Too Slow deserves a spot in the top 4 for having a good name alone but he’s also trialled quite well and should improve on last start.
7 – Diamond Trade
6 – Amillionite
2 – Stevie’s Wonder
4 – Too Fat Too Slow
Race 2 – Westspeed Platinum Maiden – 1300m – 12:22pm
Tramontante had a lot of hype following his trial and proved he was worthy of that winning last start. I’m Pretty is up in class but it’s hard to knock winning form. She gets in well with the weight claim too. Zephyr Queen has been running quite well this preparation. What about Moses has good country form and has trialled very well, while his first up record is ok (2:0-1-0).
6 – Tramontante
1 – I’m Pretty
3 – Zephyr Queen
7 – What about Moses
Race 3 – TabTouch – Better Your Bet Handicap – 1000m – 1:02pm
Amarillo Rose is down in class and has experience over these maiden horses. Massimo has only had one trial which he won, but he’s facing some impressive maidens here. Moama Rose trialled ok and stable is flying at the moment. At War trials have been good.
2 – Amarillo Rose
6 – Massimo
8 – Moama Rose
5 – At War
Race 4 – Bernard Couch Memorial Handicap – 1000m – 1:42pm
Metro Boy is racing quite well and gets in well with the weight claim. His third up record is good (2:1-0-0). Shinju has been racing well in WA and he could surprise here. Father Knick has performed well over 1000m three starts ago. Murry the Bulldog is up in class and no trial coming into this race with a terrible first up record (4:0-0-0). He’s one to watch.
5 – Metro Boy
9 – Shinju
2 – Father Knick
6 – Murry the Bulldog
Race 5 – Prive Fashion Platform Handicap – 1200m – 2:22pm
Moschard is a very consistent horse who has shown a great turn of foot but he is up in the weights. Little Fish is also a horse who has raced well, but he’s first up with no trial here. Spillinova has trialled well and had good form behind Arcadia Prince before going for a spell. Spirit and Fire’s last two starts have been disappointing.
1 – Moschard
2 – Little Fish
4 – Spillinova
3 – Spirit and Fire
Race 6 – John Martino 90th Birthday Handicap – 2000m – 3:03pm
Here Comes Lenni is on the week back and has a very wide barrier, but something seems to have clicked. Eye Art has a 1.5kg swing on Mr Alby and is a very consistent horse. Rebel Knight comes from a very well-known family and is up in distance here. MrAlby finally got a win on the board last start and should find the front here once again.
13 – Here Comes Lenni
9 – Eye Art
11 – Rebel Knight
5 – Mr Alby
Race 7 – Ascot Racing Carnival Handicap – 1600m – 3:40pm
The Darren McAuliffe yard could be in for a good day, with Abdicator having trialled very well. His second up record is very good (4:3-0-1). Friaresque had a very nice turn of foot last start. Double Digit has been running well and did win last start. Mycroft’s second up record is ok (4:0-1-0) while his distance record is good (3:0-2-1).
3 – Abdicator
5 – Friaresque
4 – Double Digit
11 – Mycroft
Race 8 – Mark Shreeve 50th Birthday Handicap – 1600m – 4:20pm
The Fugazi is a horse I underestimated last start and I’m not willing to do that again here. He’s up in distance but has won his previous two starts. Snowchino has had very nice runs the past 3 starts, including 2 wins, though all have been on soft tracks though so it’s a worry if the track dries out. Upward Others got too far back last start and perhaps it was too short for him too or being first up with no trial. I’m willing to forgive given he was going well last preparation and his second up record is ok (3:0-0-2). It will be very good value if he gets up. Butterlea Lad is up in class and has a wide barrier but did beat Zaratite three starts ago.
6 – The Fugazi
5 – Snowchino
9 – Upward Others
15 – Butterlea Lad
Race 9 – Crown Perth Handicap – 1400m – 5:00pm
Distant Trilogy is a very consistent horse who has shown a good turn of foot. False Statement is quite a good horse. Kia Ora Star’s last trial was disappointing but the previous two trials were good. On the Turps potentially could have won last but just had a lot of bad luck. He could bounce back here with an ok distance record too (5:0-1-2).
3 – Distant Trilogy
7 – False Statement
9 – Kia Ora Star
14 – On the Turps
